    Reacting to customer demand to provide more capacity, higher frequency and earlier arrivals into the UK, CLdN are pleased to announce the introduction of an additional six sailings per week each way on the Rotterdam - Humber service, increasing the offering to twelve sailings per week in each direction.

    CLdN very much welcomes the recently closed Brexit deal, bringing relief to our customers, as tariff- and quota-free trade of goods between the EU and the UK seems to be safeguarded.


    However, there should be no misunderstanding within the market that despite the trade deal customs formalities will stay in place.

    After the success of the new service between Zeebrugge (BE) and Cork (IR) in May, we are poised to introduce a second weekly call in the coming days, to cope with the increasing demand on this route.

    Ramping up capacity between the UK and the continent

    We are stepping up our Brexit preparations by introducing additional capacity in our UK routes. 

    As from last week, 25% extra capacity was added on both the Rotterdam-London and Rotterdam-Humberside routes. In addition and from week 42 onwards, an extra vessel will be deployed to service a third sailing daily sailing between Zeebrugge and London.

    New direct ro-ro service between Portugal, Ireland and the UK

    We have taken another step in our Brexit preparations with the introduction of an additional pure ro-ro service on a triangle trade between Porto, Dublin and Liverpool. With effect from week 37, 2020, CLdN Ro-Ro is operating one sailing per week from Porto to Dublin, followed by a call in the Port of Liverpool. 

    This new offering will provide a very efficient solution to the alternatives, cutting down on excessive road and sea miles for the trailer business especially, by following the shortest, most direct route and avoiding channel and road trips.

    New car storage facility at C.RO Ports Purfleet

    Purfleet - June 12, 2020 | Adjacent to their terminal in Purfleet, C.RO Ports has taken a new car deck into operation. Counting six stories in total, the covered parking area has room for over 10.000 cars and vans. From Purfleet, the brand-new vehicles will be distributed to a network of dealerships in the country.

    CLdN introduced VALENTINE and CELANDINE on the Zeebrugge – Santander service, adding almost 40% to the total capacity between these two ports.

    New direct services between Spain, the UK and Ireland

    A bold move in the midst of a crisis from short sea freight operator CLdN has been announced, starting the first pure Ro-Ro service in a triangle trade between Santander (ES), Liverpool (UK) and Dublin (IE). With effect from week 25 2020, CLdN will operate one sailing per week from Santander to Liverpool, followed by calling Dublin. The schedule has been created very agile, enabling the vessel to make additional Landbridge calls between Liverpool and Dublin before returning to Santander.
